A MESSAGE FROM OUR DIRECTOR
I am so honored to be able to provide Music & Dance Education to communities. Research shows the impact music and dance education has on Math, English, and graduation rates. My objective with Heartbeat Music & Performing Arts Academy is to bridge gaps in traditional education by introducing youth to the benefits of music. I have experienced firsthand how music can change the course of your life.
As a former Grambling State University Marching Band Member, I have been exposed to many experiences that many people can only dream of. If I can do that for just one child, I am blessed. So far, the students of HBMPAA have been in nationally televised parades, television commercials and network shows. Our dancers have been afforded the opportunity to train and dance with the great Debbie Allen in her annual holiday live show, The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker.
We are far from being done here at Heartbeat. So I look forward to engaging with you as you follow our journey.

ABOUT US
Our Mission: To bridge the gap in traditional education by introducing at-risk and underprivileged youth to the benefits of music and dance education.
HBMPAA attracts students with its HBCU foundation and exposure. Whether your child joins us for our Preschool 4 The Arts Program or our After School Marching Band Program, the foundation of what they will learn here will be taught through music and dance education. Each student is taught to not only perform but the foundations such as reading music or body movement, building confidence and self-discipline.
The program implements a progressive scholastic approach to music and dance education, where students may be awarded with the highest classification of musician or dancer. This stepwise approach to education has afforded many opportunities for graduating seniors. HBMPAA has contributed to students continuing their education at several HBCUs such as Jackson State University, Southern University, and Clark Atlanta University.
